Here's were I'm at. The Witchy Tree, has become known as Cedar. I'm most of the way done with painting it. I'm extremely happy with it, because I didn't plan much of it out-and yet it doesn't suck! Also, We took this picture from the T.V. It's Jason from the Ghost Hunters, with a fan letter I sent to the show! I have miss placed every copy I made of it! I'll post the image if and when I find it. It's a drawing of 2 Dragons (the same ones that are in my Medicine Buddha painting) and an Asian ghost man, hovering, he has on a silk robe and a long braided pony tail. Oh, and some swirling smoke. I made it cause I missed them so much. I wish I had the courage to do what they do. Also I was wondering if there were any Asian ghost stories they could investigate-I think we'll find out soon!

Gettin stuff done
I've been very busy lately. I'm happy to share the Cedar painting, still inprogress and the second to be tree painting, still unsure of a name. I have no idea what this tree is even called. When I look at this drawing and think about her, I want to call her Wilshire. I did see her in a park in Beverly Hills, near the corner of Santa Monica and Wilshire.
Only time will tell.
Cheers!

Coffee
On this lovely spring after noon, the day after a devestaing fire, I completed my painting, "Coffee".
I'm excited to share this one. It's the first painting completed since my departure from Tantric Iconography.
Enjoy.

State of the studio
I usually never do this. I have three ideas in the works. I'm finishing the Coffee painting, priming the surface for the witchy tree (that I may call "Cedar"), and drawing out another tree nymph on paper! It's fun. The pictures below show the mess we're living around.

Lazy Day
Sometimes, I just have to.
I have a very lazy day. No plans. No ambitions.
I wanted to eat out side. I went to a fickle French resturant, Cafe Figaro in Los Feliz.
This afternoon, they did not disapoint.
I had a carb heavy lunch in the sun!
It was magical.

can't sleep
This morning I was woke up before the sun. The odd sounds crafted a story and I can't rest further until I write it down.
Here goes it:
The ceremonial robe was taken from it's resting place and onto her shoulders. Her hair was skillfully crafted in curls on her head. Make-up, just so.
A smile swept across her face as she wiggled her toes into golden slippers. She went out into her village.
She began to sing. At first very low and deep within her chest. Continuous notes that would cue the birds, the wind, the clouds and eventually, the sun. As the day began, the air warmed, and tears rolled down her cheeks. She began to dance to the rhythm.
She didn't see her attacker. They came from behind. First striking her in the stomach. She fell to her knees. The next blow caught her on the back of the head, causing her to double over on herself. As she laid there, the reality sunk in. She was not the siren ment to seduce the sun into the sky; just a crazed old lady. She had wondered into the street to scream and dance a jig before sunrise.
All right, there you have it, maybe I can sleep some more now.

blog interview
http://www.theextrafinger.blogspot.com/
This fella interviewed me last week.
It was fun. I wish he had used some of currant works in the blog, but it still very nice.
This fella is from Italy.
It's neat how the Internet can shorten distances.
Enjoy.

At the moment
I've been busy today collecting images for an article on my art work. It's a small publication that is available in Minnesota-Turtle River Press. My pal Kelli Bickman suggested they consider featuring my work-thanx Kelli!
Along with nice photos of my work, they wanted a portrait of me. Oi, I haven't looked good in a picture in years!
I think i got a few good ones.
I'm also ready to begin painting on my latest composition-Coffee. I've most of the colors figured out and this weekend we'll (My fella, Chad and I) build a wood panel for it. I no longer care for working on canvas. When I work big it acts like a drum head, vibrating all over the place with each line. Also my painting the Caregiver has begin to twist!-I feel terrible about this because I actually sold this one (the owner is going to have it re stretched).

"Were's my painting?" you say
Google
This is a bit to let the folks waiting for a small, inexpensive painting by me, for thier monthly group show. I'm super flattered that you even remembered, but it aein't happenin. No I'm not in a creative rut. No i'm not rejecting your partys. I enjoyed workin with you in the past, and hope to again. I've gone back to how I work best-large paintings that require close to a year to complete. I know these paintings don't sell well-hard to move. So are small inexpensive paintings by an unknown artist. I feel I have a better shot showing work I'm thrilled about rather than what I could get togther in one month.
Don't hold your breath, just be patience.
It'll be worth it.
